We're proud to share that the Water Environment Federation (WEF) has been named a Top Workplace for 2026 by WTOP News — an honor made even more meaningful because it’s based entirely on employee feedback.

The recognition comes from a confidential third-party survey that measures key aspects of workplace culture. The survey looks at factors such as whether employees feel respected and supported, have opportunities to grow, and are empowered to do their best work.

That's what makes this award especially significant: It reflects the voices and experiences of the people who make WEF what it is every day.

"Our WEF culture is foundational to the experience we provide our members and to our ability to make a positive impact on the water environment," said WEF President Keith Hobson. "When our people feel supported, connected, and empowered, that energy carries directly into the service and leadership we bring to the sector."

At WEF, our mission is rooted in bold leadership, innovation, and connection. While our work focuses on supporting water professionals and advancing clean and safe water worldwide, that mission starts internally — with a workplace culture that values collaboration, purpose, and people.

"This recognition reflects the culture our team has built together — one grounded in purpose, collaboration, and a shared commitment to making a difference," said WEF Executive Director Ralph Erik Exton. "We’re honored to be recognized as a Top Workplace, and proud of the people who bring WEF’s mission to life every day."

Being recognized as a Top Workplace is a reminder that when employees feel supported and empowered, they can do meaningful work and make a real impact. We’re honored by this recognition and grateful to our team for helping make WEF a place where people can thrive.
