Staying Focused on Our Mission During Times of Change

Dear WEF Members:

As a global institution, WEF stays closely connected with our members, markets, customers, stakeholders, and governments, especially during periods of transition, like the current one in the United States. Regardless of any political changes, our mission and values remain steady.

group.jpgTransitions also bring opportunities to reinforce our mission and clarify our commitment to the water sector and environmental stewardship. First and foremost, we will continue to integrate Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging in all that we do. We will drive key initiatives to attract and develop a diverse and passionate water workforce of the future.

We will inspire our communities of members and volunteers in pursuit of human and environmental well-being to solve water challenges sustainably and equitably. We will lead the transformation and adoption of the circular water economy principles. And we will continue to serve the sector with unyielding integrity to create a life free of water challenges.

As a nonpartisan organization, WEF’s role is to highlight key issues and drive beneficial policies and initiatives. Everyone agrees on the importance of water. It’s the lifeblood of our society and our economy and has strong bipartisan support. WEF recently attended a White House roundtable on water security and resilience, where we advocated for sustainable water practices and emphasized a circular economy that maximizes every drop of water. We also discussed the need to build a diverse, skilled workforce and promote supportive policies to strengthen water security across the country.

It was a powerful moment of collaboration, and we’re proud of how our work positions WEF as a leader in this crucial conversation. There was a strong commitment from all parties to keep these issues moving forward in a bipartisan manner. And for that reason, combined with WEF's strong mission and committed, dedicated staff and volunteers, we remain highly optimistic for the future.

Thank you for everything you do. Together, we’re making a real impact, and we'll continue to drive positive change in the days ahead.

Sincerely,
