In its inaugural year, the new MARC (Manufacturers and Representative Community) Individual Distinguished Service Award is administered and intended to annually recognize an individual member of a manufacturer, a manufacturer’s representative, service provider, or representative firm who supports WEF members, WEF Member Associations (MA), and the water industry’s technological advancements.

This award is presented to an individual member of the Water Environment Federation whose significant career contributions to the Federation and the water environment profession merit recognition. These individuals have a unique experience of traveling across regions, countries, etc., staying on the edge of technological advances, to include new products, new technologies and successes. Manufacturers develop the technologies in our industry; both manufacturers and representatives are on the leading edge of promoting technologies developed. This award highlights the individual members of this community who lead, inspire, and promote WEF’s mission.

Criteria of Nominee 

The nominee’s accomplishment must be compared to the award’s criteria and a strong, complete case made to promote selection.

• Contributions to promoting and/or improving our industry through:
  • Advocating for the importance of volunteering and advancing the water industry.
  • Helping empower individuals, within the manufacturing community, to bring their individual talents, skills, abilities, and thoughts into WEF and Member Associations.
    
    
• Contributions to promoting and/or improving the standards of our industry through:
  • WEF, and Member Associations (MA), Volunteerism
  • Significant contribution(s) that resulted in improvements to the water industry, including, but not limited to training, publications, presentations, and regulatory contributions
    
    
• Contributions supporting the Federation's mission to the profession through:
  • Leadership in WEF or WEF Member Associations through the House of Delegates, the Board of Trustees, Member Association activities, etc.
  • Participation in WEF or WEF Member Associations through communities, work groups, etc.
    
    
• Eligible Nominees must have been working (or are currently) in the manufacturer industry for at least 10 years in order to apply for this Award.
  
  
• Current (not expired) Individual Member of the Water Environment Federation

Format and Content of a Nomination: 

• Online Nomination Form addressing the above criteria.

• Specific reasons supporting the nomination (three pages maximum)
  
  
• Any other relevant supporting material (examples include, but not limited to, letter(s) of recommendation from peers, letter(s) of recommendation from MA/WEF communities, presentations from the nominee, etc.)
