Criteria:

i. Entries will be evaluated based on the following criteria:
     a. Complexity of the water sector problem or situation addressed
     b. Relevance to the water sector
     c. Innovation, originality, and creativity in solutions
     d. Sustainability considerations (environmental, social, and economic) including resource recovery
     e. Meeting the owning agency's needs particularly related to budget, schedule, project quality and/or cost effectiveness
     f. Contribution to the well-being of people, social equity, communities and the climate
ii. Up to three WEF Project Excellence Awards may be awarded annually (e.g., owning agency or utility, the lead design firm, and the construction entity). One physical award will be given for each project or program, and as many entities may be acknowledged as desired.
iii. Projects must be substantially complete at the time of the application. If portions of the project are not complete, only the completed portions of the project will be considered for that year's awards program.

*Awards may be submitted for up to three years after project completion 

Submit:

• Online nomination form shall be submitted by the noted deadline
• The nomination form shall included signed certification from an official at the owning agency approving submittal of the project for consideration
• The nominations form shall be completed in its entirety, and the application shall not exceed 10 pages. In addition, a maximum 15 slide PowerPoint presentation may be included with photographs, charts, maps, and project information (graphics only, no audio or video)

WEF Membership Requirements for Application

If the nominator for this award is an Individual, we require them to be a current (not expired) WEF Member.

If the nominator for this award is a Member Association (MA), then a Member ID is not required.

If the nominator for this award is a WEF Community/Committee, then a Member ID is not required.

*If the nomination is being submitted by a Member Association (MA) or Community/Committee, please indicate the MA name or Community/Committee name within the application in lieu of a WEF Member ID #.
